John Whitfield
For twenty-six years John Whitfield has successfully represented hundreds of clients in a wide variety of cases throughout the state of Tennessee. In addition to producing excellent results for his clients, John has achieved the recognition of his peers throughout the State. Since 1994, John has qualified as a Civil Trial Specialist, which is a certification given by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialty. John is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy/National Board of Legal Specialty Certification which is a distinction earned by meeting experience requirements, passing of a written examination and peer recommendation.
John has represented his clients in every county in Middle Tennessee and many counties in East and West Tennessee as well. He has successfully represented clients who were seriously injured by defective products, seriously injured in automobile accidents, and he has represented the survivors of those who were killed in accidents caused by careless and reckless drivers. He prides himself on resolving his clients' cases by mediation, arbitration or if necessary, by a jury trial.
John's diligent efforts on behalf of his clients have resulted in his recognition by peer review groups. He has the highest rating by Martindale Hubbard - AV Preeminent. The publication Super Lawyers named John as a super lawyer in the field of 'personal injury, plaintiffs/general' in 2009.
Through his representation of his clients, John has received recognition from peer groups for his fine work. For his work for plaintiffs in the personal injury field, John was recognized in the 2009 listing of Mid-South Super Lawyers. John has received the highest rating from the peer review group, Martindale-Hubbell, where John has been rated AV preeminent. He is a graduate of David Lipscomb University (Class of 73) and of the Nashville School of Law (Class of 82). John was licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee in October 1983. He is admitted before the Supreme Court for the State of Tennessee and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal District Courts for both Middle and East Tennessee and all of the State Courts in Tennessee.
